Namma Bengaluru’s Favorite Donne Biryani Recipe!

Let’s Get Cooking!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sona Masoori or Basmati Rice
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 small Onion, chopped
  • 7-8 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2-3 Green Chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 tsp Mint leaves, chopped
  • 1 tsp Spice Chest Garam Masala

Heat ghee, sauté onions, garlic, ginger paste, cumin seeds, and turmeric powder.

Veg Donne Biryani for 2-3 people

  1. Prepare rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat ghee, add spices, and fry onions till golden brown.
  3. Add veggies (peas, carrot, gobi) and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Make a paste with coriander, mint, green chillies, and garlic. Add to handi and fry till oil separates.
  5. Add 1/2 tsp of our signature Spice Chest Garam Masala powder and mix well. Continue cooking till the chicken is fully done.
  6. Add curd, rice, and water. Cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes.

Non-Veg Donne Biryani for 2-3 people

  1. Prepare rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat ghee, add spices, and fry onions till golden brown.
  3. Add marinated chicken and cook till half done.
  4. Add 1 tsp of our signature Spice Chest Garam Masala powder and mix well. Continue cooking till the chicken is fully done.
  5. Make a paste with coriander, mint, green chillies, and garlic. Add to handi and fry till oil separates.
  6. Add curd, rice, and water. Cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes.

Serve and enjoy!

Garnish with coriander and mint leaves. Serve hot with raita or curry!
